Avatar In 2154, humans have consumed all the Earth’s natural resources and caused an acute energy crisis. The Resources Development Administration (RDA) which mines unobtanium is responsible for the destruction of the Earth’s natural resources.

Scientists use Na’vi-human hybrids, also known as “avatars” to investigate Pandora’s biosphere. They are human beings that have genetically matched genes. Jake Sully is a paraplegic and a former Marine. He is the replacement for his identical twin brother who passed away as an operator for one. Dr. Grace Augustine is the chief of the Avatar Program and considers Sully an unfit replacement, but is willing to accept his job as an officer of the bodyguard. Grace as well as Dr. Norm Spellman Jake’s avatar gets attacked by the Pandoran animals and escapes into the forest, where he is saved by Neytiri Na’vi, a female. She witnesses an important sign that is believed to be positive and brings the boy to her clan. Mo’at, Neytiri’s mother and the spiritual leader of the clan, has her daughter begged her to integrate Jake into their society.

Colonel Miles Quaritch, head of the RDA’s private security forces, promises Jake that the company will restore his legs if he collects details about the Na’vi and the place of their gathering the giant tree Hometree,[38] which stands above the largest concentration of unobtanium that is found in the region. Grace discovers this and transfers Jake, Norm, and themselves to an post. As Jake and Neytiri become closer over the course of three months Jake begins to feel an empathy for the natives. When Jake is accepted into the tribe, he and Neytiri choose each other as mates. Soon afterward, Jake reveals his change of allegiance when he attempts to shut down a bulldozer that threatens to demolish the sacred site of the Na’vi. When Quaritch shows a recording of Jake’s assault against the bulldozer Administrator Parker Selfridge, [39and 39 and another one in which Jake admits that the Na’vi will never abandon Hometree, Selfridge orders Hometree destroyed.

Despite Grace’s argument that destroying Hometree could harm the biological neural network which is the basis of Pandora, Selfridge gives Jake and Grace an hour to persuade the Na’vi to evacuate before commencing the attack. Jake acknowledges to the Na’vi that he was an informer, and they take Jake as well as Grace hostage. The men of Quaritch kill Hometree and Neytiri’s father, the clan chief, and numerous others. Mo’at releases Jake and Grace however, they’re separated from their avatars, and are imprisoned by Quaritch’s forces. Pilot Trudy Chacon, disgusted at Quaritch’s brutality, frees Jake, Grace, and Norm and transports them to Grace’s outpost, but Grace is killed by Quaritch during the escape.

To restore the trust of the Na’vi, Jake connects his mind to that of Toruk who is a dragon-like predator feared and honored by Na’vi. Jake meets the refugees in the holy Tree of Souls and pleads with Mo’at cure Grace. With the assistance of the Tree of Souls the clan is attempting to change Grace into her avatar, however Grace is sick and unable to make the transformation. Jake is aided by the new chief Tsu’tey brings the clan together and commands them to join in order to combat the RDA. Quaritch plans a aggressive attack on the Tree of Souls in the belief that its destruction will reduce the strength of the natives. As the battle is about to begin, Jake prays to Eywa, via an emotional connection to the Tree of Souls, to intervene on behalf of the Na’vi.

In the battle that follows that follows, the Na’vi take heavy losses, including Tsu’tey as well as Trudy, but are rescued by Pandoran animals suddenly join in the battle and take over the human population, which Neytiri interprets as Eywa’s answer to Jake’s plea. Jake defeats a bomber made of rags before it can even reach the Tree of Souls; Quaritch, wearing an armored suit and a AMP suit, escapes from his damaged plane and later finds and breaks open the avatar link unit that houses Jake’s body, exposing it to the poisonous atmosphere of Pandora. Quaritch is trying to cut his throat, but Neytiri defeats Quaritch by using two Arrows. Jake then sees his human body for the first time and flees from the wreckage of his aircraft.

Humans are all sent back to Earth after being exiled from Pandora The exception is of Jake and Norm. Jake is forever transformed into his avatar through the Tree of Souls.
